Maintenance And Upkeep Of Extruder Screws

Jun 18, 2024Leave a message

During the continuous operation of the extrusion screw, the internal parts cannot avoid wear and tear, which directly leads to a decrease in production efficiency. In response to this negative phenomenon, the relevant industry has proposed corresponding maintenance and upkeep for the extrusion screw. So what are the maintenance tasks for extrusion screws? Next, let's take a look together!

After the extrusion screw is put into production, due to long-term power load operation, coupled with contact with corrosive gases and erosion of molten materials, the operation function and production power of some transmission parts and screw barrel will gradually change, with a slight decrease. In daily homework, it is emphasized to pay attention to the maintenance and upkeep of equipment, with the intention of extending the service life of the equipment, so that its operational function and output power can maintain normal conditions for a longer period of time. To ensure stable economic growth of the enterprise.

The maintenance of the extruder is divided into daily maintenance and scheduled maintenance. The daily maintenance and upkeep of the extruder includes the operating procedures, rules, and precautions during the production operation of the extruder. Operators are required to conscientiously execute them. (Note that the operator should follow the working principle of the extrusion screw.)

Regular maintenance and upkeep of the extruder can be organized according to the load and operating time of the extruder, and can generally be carried out every six months or once a year. During maintenance and upkeep, repair fitters and equipment operators cooperate to carry out the following tasks:
① Clean and wipe the oil stains on various parts of the extruder and dust in the electrical control box.
② Disassemble the gear transmission gearbox and bearing cover, and check the operational wear condition of each transmission component; Observe changes in the quality of lubricating oil and promptly compensate for the amount of oil; If the oil contains a lot of impurities, it should be filtered or replaced.
③ Wear gears should be surveyed and the specifications of the bearings should be recorded. After the assignment, a spare parts production or purchase plan should be proposed, and time should be arranged for repair and replacement.
④ Check the wear condition of the V-belt and adjust the center distance of the V-belt equipment (it is required to keep the V-belt transmission loose and appropriate during operation); If the V-belt is severely worn, it should be replaced.
⑤ Check the wear condition of the barrel and screws. There are slight scratches and friction marks on the inner surface of the barrel and the outer circle of the screw thread, which can be polished with a fine oilstone or fine sandcloth to achieve flat lubrication. Record the measured dimensions of the barrel and screw working surface (inner diameter of the barrel and outer diameter of the screw).
⑥ Check and verify the heating practice temperature of the extruder barrel (measured with a mercury thermometer) and the temperature error value displayed on the surface to ensure the correct control of the operating process temperature of the extruder.
⑦ Adjust and experiment with various safety alarm devices to ensure the reliability and accuracy of their operations.
⑧ Check and experiment whether various infusion pipelines (water, gas, and lubricating oil) are smooth, and repair and unblock leakage and blockage areas.
⑨ Check and experiment whether the connection of each power transmission line is firm, and whether the safety grounding protection of the electrical control box and equipment is firm.
⑩ Check and experiment whether the working orientation of the heating equipment, cooling fan, and safety cover is correct, and make necessary corrections to ensure that the extrusion screw can operate correctly and effectively.
